Replacement Ink Cartridge

I opened a new cartridge and it wouldn't print black ink. I tried cleaning it, checking for remnants of the plastic thing you peel off, and running the cartridge cleaning tool that's built into the printer. It would not print. I opened a new cartridge and it printed perfectly. I tried to contact support but to get any info you have to enter a labyrinth worth of information, and cartridge serial numbers don't come up. The warranty date is 4/30/21.
