Thanks for your helpful advice.  I'm on Instant Ink cartridges, but I intend to cancel them because the system doesn't work for me.  Even finding information on cancelling Instant Inks is impossible!

Hi @CharlesM34,

Thank you for getting back.

To cancel your HP Instant Ink subscription, sign in to your HP Smart account, navigate to the "HP Instant Ink" section, click "Update Plan" or "Plan Details," and select "Cancel Instant Ink". You must return or stop using Instant Ink cartridges, as they will stop working at the end of the billing cycle.

Steps to Cancel HP Instant Ink:

  1. Sign In: Log in to your account at hpinstantink.com/signin or via the HP Smart app.
  2. Access Account: Select "HP Instant Ink" in the menu and go to "Plan Details" or "Update Plan".
  3. Cancel: Click "Cancel Instant Ink" and follow the prompts, which may include answering a questionnaire and acknowledging that cartridges will stop working.
  4. Confirm: You will receive an email confirmation once the cancellation is processed.

Important Details:

  • Billing Cycle: You can continue to use the service until the end of your current billing cycle.
  • Cartridges: Instant Ink cartridges are proprietary and will stop working once the subscription ends. You must replace them with standard retail HP cartridges.
  • Final Charge: A final payment may be charged at the end of the billing cycle for any extra pages printed.
  • If you have an HP All-in-Plan: You may be required to return the printer.
