One of my ink cartridges is low on ink, one of the 4 cartridges that came with the purchase of the printer a couple of months ago. I have the 4 Instant Ink cartridges that were shipped when I enrolled in the Plan. My question is: should I replace all 4 cartridges in the printer or just the one that is low on ink? I suspect I can only replace the low cartridge but wanted to check regarding “best practice”.

Thanks in advance for suggestions.

Cheers,
Bob

Hi @BobArch235 ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

You only need to replace the ink cartridge that is low on ink, not all four cartridges. The Instant Ink cartridges are designed to be used individually, and replacing only the depleted one is the most efficient way to manage your ink.

Once you replace the low cartridge with the Instant Ink one, the printer will recognize it and continue operating normally. There's no need to replace the other cartridges until they also run low.

This approach saves ink and ensures you're only using what you need, which aligns with the Instant Ink program's goal of reducing waste and managing ink more efficiently.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
