I replaced the chip on my new cartridges with old cartridge chip. I was not able to distinguish which way chip needed to be inserted as both ways looked the same. I placed into printer and it is not recognizing the cartridges at all. Its blink supplies low. Paper out (its not), won’t print at all. Says I need new toner.? Is toner and black ink cartridge the same thing?
i even unplugged for over 10 minutes to reset, I also turned power off then back on!! This is terrible!! Help please. What have I done wrong?!!!!

The chip stores data for each toner cartridge including toner level. It is unique for each colour, you can't mix them. If you remove the chip from the empty toner and place it to the new toner the printer will read the date from the chip and report empty toner.
