I need to replace the printheads on my HP smart tank 7600. The print cartridges do not move on their own when I open the access door. I have new printheads to replace the old ones so how will I move the print head so that I can access them?

Welcome to HP Support Community 😀,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
Turn off the printer:
- Power off your HP Smart Tank 7602 and unplug it from the power source. This will ensure your safety when working with the printer components.
Open the printer access door:
- Carefully open the front access door to the printhead area. This should expose the printheads and the ink tank areas.
Check for any obstructions:
- Ensure there are no physical obstructions (paper, jammed ink, or any debris) that are preventing the printhead carriage from moving.
Manually move the printhead carriage:
- With the printer turned off, gently try to move the printhead carriage by hand.
- Push the printhead to the far-right or far-left position (depending on where it is stuck). Be careful not to force it too hard to avoid damaging internal parts.
- If it moves, great—proceed to the next step. If it's still stuck, you may want to check if there are any ink residue or debris that might be blocking movement.
Replace the printheads:
- Once you can access the printhead area, remove the old printheads:
- Lift the latch holding the printhead in place.
- Gently pull out the old printhead.
- Insert the new printhead by aligning it with the slot and pushing it in until it clicks securely.
Reassemble the printer:
- Close the access door and plug the printer back into the power source.
- Turn on the printer and follow the on-screen instructions to align the new printheads and test the printer.
Perform a test print:
- After replacing the printheads, print a test page to ensure the printhead is installed correctly and functioning.
Additionally, kindly refer to this document for instructions on how to replace the printhead.
I hope these steps help resolve the issue
