I want to downgrade to the previous version because my HP Color LaserJet MFP M477fnw was working with non original hp toner cartridges and after the latest automatic firmware update it doesn't work anymore.
But the printer does not accept any firmware (update or downgrade) while it is not in idle status.
How can I do it?
Can I use the USB Port?
And if not possible, how can I reset it to factory firmware?

Found the solution in this thread, the largest file after the unpacking (1013) approx. 21MB must be transfered to the printer via FTP client.

There is no way to revert to factory firmware, that is over written when an update is applied. You should be able to downgrade but you will likely have to go through some steps. First you must have a copy of the update utility for the revision you want to install. Open that file with 7ZIP (download it if you do not have it already). When the file opens in 7ZIP look in the list of files to find a file that has a file type of .FUL. Extract this file to a usb key. Power off the printer. Insert the USB key into the slot under the control panel and then turn the printer on. It will take a few minutes but the printer should recognize that there is an update/downgrade and will install it. Device will then restart after the install and the old firmware should now be installed. Make sure that you disable automatic updates or you will quickly be in the same boat again.
