The new upgrade has stopped me from using Generic print cartridges. How do I get rid of the most recent update? I have three HP color LaserJet's for desks and one large one for sales desks. I need to use generic ink cartridges or get another brand to replace all the printers. Aaarrgghh!

HP does not recommend the use of non-HP inks. It may or may not work.
Download available firmware updates from the HP website
With the printer on and connected to the computer, go to HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads, and then identify your printer. Look for and install any available firmware updates. Refer to the document HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware
The third party ink cartridges will work. But there are many cartridges in the market which is refilled and sometimes the chip is not configured to work with the printer. You need to contact the cartridge manufacturer and find out why it's not working. Try a different cartridge supplier and check if that works.
If the issue persists, refer to - Dynamic Security Enabled Printers
There is no option to downgrade the printer firmware. If you find posts/instructions on the same from other community members, You may try it at your own discretion.
You may purchase replacement cartridges and other supplies from the HP Store or local retailers.
