Hello dear forum,
my printer only prints in pink. The cartridges are all full.
When I print in color, only a pink image appears?
Maybe someone can help me, the printer is from 2021.
Best regards
Kerstin

Hi @Kerstin1212,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Hello Kerstin,
If your printer is only printing in pink despite having full cartridges, this usually indicates an issue with the color cartridges or the printhead. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the problem:
1. Check the Ink Cartridges
- Ensure Proper Installation: Make sure all ink cartridges are properly installed in their respective slots.Remove and Reinstall: Remove the ink cartridges and reinstall them to ensure they are seated correctly.Check Expiry Date: Ensure that the ink cartridges have not expired. Expired ink can cause printing issues.
2. Clean the Printhead
- Automatic Printhead Cleaning: Most HP printers have an automatic printhead cleaning option. Refer to your printer's manual for instructions on how to run the cleaning cycle.
- Manual Cleaning: If the automatic cleaning doesn't help, you might need to manually clean the printhead. Use a lint-free cloth and distilled water to gently clean the printhead.
3. Perform a Printhead Alignment
- Align Printhead: Go to your printer settings and perform a printhead alignment. This ensures that the printhead is correctly aligned and can help resolve color printing issues.
4. Update Printer Firmware and Drivers
- Firmware Update: Check if there is a firmware update available for your printer. You can do this through the HP Support website.
- Driver Update: Ensure that you have the latest drivers installed for your printer. Visit the HP Support website to download and install the latest drivers for your model.
5. Print a Diagnostic Page
- Diagnostic Page: Print a diagnostic or test page to check if all colors are printing correctly. This can help identify if there is an issue with a specific color cartridge.
6. Run the HP Print and Scan Doctor Tool (Windows)
- HP Print and Scan Doctor: Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool. This tool can diagnose and fix many printing issues.
7. Replace Ink Cartridges
- New Cartridges: If the above steps do not resolve the issue, try replacing the ink cartridges with new ones. Sometimes, even if the cartridges are full, they may be faulty.
8. Check Printer Settings
- Color Settings: Ensure that your printer settings are set to print in color. Check the print settings on your computer and make sure that 'Color' or 'Auto' is selected instead of 'Black and White' or 'Grayscale'.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
