Just replaced the black cartridge of my HP9025 for the first time. After installing a brand new black cartridge, the screen says "Cartridges Depleted" (but doesn't say which one(s)). I haven't touched the other cartridges. What to do???

Hi,
Also evaluate the message for which ink cartridge is indicated, you should see a circle mark for the indicated ink cartridge (K=Black, Y=Yellow, C=Cyan, M=Magenta).
I also suggest clicking Hide and then click the top black bar on the printer screen, then tap the ink drop icon and evaluate all ink levels.
Be aware that your printer uses color ink for multiple purposes as ink system maintenance too, see below support document which explains the ink usage:

Remove each cartridge one by one gently shake it in your hand, if you feel liquid movement inside the cartridge that one is fine if you don't feel any movement that cartridge is depleted. Since this is your first time replacing the cartridges that came with the new printer it's were likely all 3 of the colours are depleted.
For testing purposes, you can shake old empty black and newly installed black to feel the difference.
