Hi @Lushi93,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I’m really sorry you’re running into this. I understand how frustrating it is to buy a new printer and then get stuck during setup. I’ll help you get this sorted as smoothly as possible.

First, please double-check the box

Even if the printer was purchased some time ago, please re-check everything inside the original box, including:

  • All cardboard inserts
  • Side compartments
  • Small accessory packets

The setup cartridges are usually labelled “SETUP” and are often packed separately from the printer itself.

If the setup cartridges are truly missing

If the store is unable to provide them, there is 1 possible way forward:

Option 1: Bypass setup using regular HP cartridges (Trade Override)

If you already have genuine HP ink cartridges for this model (not refilled or third-party), we may be able to bypass the setup cartridge requirement.

To check this for you, please:

  • Confirm that the cartridges are original HP
  • Share clear photos of the cartridges (front label and model number)

Once we see the cartridges, we can guide you through the override steps.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
