Hi weird question here. I have an OfficeJet Pro 8610 that is probably 6 years old (gift that I didn't need until now) but never been used once. I went to set it up today but it says the blue and yellow setup cartridges are depleted. It's out of warranty and not sure what the next move is. Don't want to try regular cartridges, etc because the the printer have never been used, and I don't know if it's ok to get unlocked setup cartridges for the same reason. Any thoughts on what to do?

@ZackJenssen, Welcome to HP Support Community!

The ink cartridges might be dried as it wasn't used for a long time. The only option is to replace the ink since you'd not get setup ink in the stores buy regular ink and install them on the printer. If there is an error let me know, we can help you bypass the setup ink error.

I hope that answers your concern adequately. Let me know!
