HP Tango

Printing faint red shadowing on everything that is printed since Windows 11 upgrade. I have cleaned the cartridge, aligned and realigned, uninstalled and reinstalled, changed cartridges, updated drivers, powered down and restarted...I'm at loss. Anyone else having the issue? Any other suggestions?

Hi @NurseSara, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Since you've already tried most troubleshooting steps, here are a few additional suggestions to resolve the faint red shadowing issue with your HP Tango printer after upgrading to Windows 11:

Try a Different Print Quality Setting

  • Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  • Right-click your HP Tango printer and select Printing Preferences.
  • Under the Paper/Quality tab, change the Print Quality to Best and see if that makes a difference.

Disable Color Management

  • Open Printers & Scanners in Windows settings.
  • Select your HP Tango, click Manage > Printing Preferences.
  • Look for Advanced Color Settings and disable any color correction or management options.

Run Windows Troubleshooter

  • Go to Settings > Troubleshoot > Other Troubleshooters.
  • Select Printer and run the troubleshooter.

Check for Windows Update Conflicts

Some updates might affect print color processing. Try:

  • Rolling back recent Windows updates (Settings > Windows Update > Update History > Uninstall Updates).
  • Installing pending updates to see if Microsoft released a fix.

Print from a Different Device

  • Try printing from a phone, Mac, or another Windows 10 PC.
  • If the issue is only on your Windows 11 device, it’s likely a driver or software conflict.

Perform a Semi-Full Reset on HP Tango

  • Unplug the printer while it is on.
  • Press and hold the Wi-Fi and Power buttons together for 15 seconds.
  • Plug the printer back in and power it on.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
