I have what might seem to be an odd question. Just installed HP Color LaserJet Pro M478f-9f and it only appears to print double-sided. I have already wasted 50 sheets of paper and several hours trying to troubleshoot.
The double-sided issue happens with MS Office programs, Adobe pdf and GoogleDrive apps.
The double-sided issue happens with MS Office programs also happens under Windows 10 Home version.
The double-sided issue did NOT seem to happen when printing from a USB device.
In the MS Word Print Dialog I do not see any method of printing choosing single or double sided
I have enabled and unenabled Duplex printing in the Web Server app.
I did a hard factory reset.
When I installed the the HP Smart, it seems like I did get a Print Dialog box that allowed me to uncheck the "Print Double-sided" box. But I am now unable to reproduce that function.
I am puzzled-- is the default on the Color LaserJet Pro M478f-9f double-sided? If so, why is their no published way to change this? Saving paper is important, but sometimes one must print single-sided.
I was thinking the problem may be related to my version of the Mac Operating System, but the printer will not print single-side in Windows either..

Most drivers that HP provides today are set to duplex by default, but that can be turned off. It is also possible to lock the printer on duplex mode through the Embedded Web Server (type the IP address of the printer into a browser address bar)

Thanks, it appears that performing these changes in Safari worked. I had tried doing them originally in Chrome, which didn't seem to fix the problem. For a while I was getting a Security Error/Keychain in Chrome.
