HP F2280
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

HI,

How do I stop my printer from automatically printing diagnostic / test pages for cartridge alignment?

I've got a HP Deskjet F2280 All in one Printer (SN: [Personal Information Removed])  at home that I rarely use (maybe 2-4 times a month).  Since I use it so little I usually turn off the printer to free up energy sockets, USB portals and save energy. But everytime I turn on the printer I automatically get at least 1 (sometimes 4) diagnostic / test pages for cartridge alignment.

There is nothing wrong with the quallity / alignment of the cartridges, I havn't installed new cartridges for a while and I alredy performed the alignment several times. So I just want the automatic printing of these test pages to stop and if I need a cartridge alinment I will print one out manually. Because this is very irritating and a waste of paper and ink (I spend more paper and ink on these pages than on my actual print jobs) and it messes up my print jobs (e.g. manual dubble sides prints or prints on special paper.

Kind regards,

Flora

You need to place that alignment sheet on the scanner glass and complete alignment process. If you don't do that the printer will try to self align every time you turn it ON.

It is explained in words (or pictures) how to place the alignment sheet on the scanner glass and what button to press to complete alignment.

Yeah thnx for your reply,  but like I said: I've already aligned the cartridges many times! So I've done that, but it doesn't help. Any other suggestions...?
