Hello,
I'm trying to print some double sided boardgame cards received from a Kickstarter campaign, and while I managed to achieve 99% overlapping between the fronts and the backs of the cards on a normal 80gr/ms paper, I am having issues on more thicker papers, like 200gr/ms: If I choose "HP Photo Paper" for the paper source in the printer's settings, having the slowest printing speed, the overlapping works just as on a normal paper, but the quality of the images is foggy (not sharp, dull); on the other hand, If I use any of the other paper types, like "Other Matte Inkjet Papers", the quality of the images is great, but one side of the print is normal, and the other side is way upper, and on an angle, even If I take care to place the paper back onto the same position I've inserted previously. As for applications, I've tried Word with tables and PDF, also tried different formats for the images, but it seems that the printer has the final say how they end up.
My question would be: is there a way to determine the printing speed, other than changing the paper source?
Thanks,
Zolti

Ok, so HP Smart Printing, under Document Tab, at Media Type has the following paper options:
- Plain Paper;
- HP Photo Papers;
- HP Matte Brochure or Professional Paper;
- HP Matte Presentation Paper;
- HP Glossy Brochure or Professional Paper;
- Other Photo Inkjet Papers;
- Other Matte Inkjet Papers;
- Other Glossy Inkjet Papers;
- Plain Papers Recycled.
Now, from these, selecting Plain Paper, the printing is going to be the fastest, and HP Photo Papers, the printing is going to be the slowest. The speed is important for the accuracy of the double sided prints and also for the thickness of the actual paper, because the higher the thickness, the slower the printer is handling the paper, shifting the printable content sometimes even off the paper surface itself.
The quality on the other hand, at least for boardgame card designs and not photographs is the worst when selecting HP Photo Paper. I printed one card with each and every options from above and If I would to choose, I would say that Other Matte Inkjet Paper produces the best quality.
As a conclusion, the question remains the same: is there a way to determine the printing speed, but without changing the Paper Source so that not only accuracy, but also quality to be achievable?

No you would not be able to.
