Hi @LynnM16778 ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are facing an issue with your HP Smart Tank 7305 isn't printing yellow even though the ink tank is almost full, here are a few steps to troubleshoot the issue:

Check Printhead Nozzles:

  • Clogged nozzles can prevent ink from coming through. Run a printhead cleaning cycle from your printer’s control panel or software. You might need to run this a few times to clear any dried ink.

Print a Diagnostic Page:

  • Go to your printer settings and print a diagnostic or quality report page to check if the yellow ink appears. This can help identify if the issue is limited to yellow or affects other colors as well.

Perform a Power Reset:

  • Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for about a minute. Then plug it back in and turn it on. Sometimes a reset can resolve minor issues.

Check Ink Levels and Ink Flow:

  • Even if the yellow ink tank is full, ensure that ink is flowing correctly from the tank to the printhead. Sometimes an air bubble or blockage can prevent the ink from reaching the printhead. Try gently agitating the ink tank to dislodge any bubbles (but don’t shake it vigorously).

Update Printer Firmware: Update the firmware on an HP printer

  • An outdated firmware can sometimes cause printing issues. Go to the HP Support website and check for any available firmware updates for your model.

Run a Second Cleaning Cycle:

  • If the first cleaning didn’t help, you might need a deeper clean, which uses more ink but can often solve stubborn clogs.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
