My yellow ink isn't working. I've done all the cleaning via the app/Web site that are available, when talking to hp assistant they want me to clean the print heads with distilled water!?!
When I open the top of the printer my printing head block does not move to the middle (like previous printers have nor is there a button/lever for me to do this manually).
I cannot open it to get to the print heads.
However looking at the pipes the yellow ink goes to the print head to a little clip but then the pipe from the clip to the print heads you can see there is no ink getting to it. Can anyone help? My user guide isn't very helpful!

Hi @Jem-T2
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
It sounds like a frustrating situation with your HP Smart Tank 7306!
Based on your description, it seems there could be an issue with ink flow in the yellow line, possibly a clog or an air bubble.
Here are some alternative steps you might try:
1. Prime the Ink System
Some Smart Tank models have a maintenance option to "prime" or "purge" the ink system. Check your printer settings or the HP Smart app for such an option, as this can help push ink through the lines.
2. Check for Air Bubbles in the Pipes
Gently tap along the yellow ink pipe to try and dislodge any air bubbles that might be interrupting the ink flow. Avoid excessive force to prevent damage.
3. Force a Print Head Alignment
Use the printer's control panel or the HP Smart app to initiate a print head alignment. This process may prompt the print head to move or help clear any blockages.
4. Run an Extended Printhead Cleaning
If the regular cleaning cycles didn’t work, check the HP Smart app for an option to run an extended or "deep" cleaning cycle.
5. Manually Move the Printhead Block
If there’s no automated way to move the printhead to the center for cleaning, try unplugging the printer while it’s turned on. This may free up the printhead block, allowing you to gently slide it to the center. Be cautious not to force anything, as this could cause damage.
6. Inspect the Ink Clip
If the issue seems to be between the clip and the print head, try carefully removing and re-securing the clip to ensure a proper connection.
