Printer is smudging my prints, especially the black items, despite running all the cleaning tools and even with new genuine HP cartridges. What more can I do to fix this? Feels like it needs to be cleaned manually from the inside as conditions can get dusty at home .

Hi @nrizwanu,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP DeskJet Ink Advantage 4675 printer is smudging prints despite running cleaning tools and using new genuine HP cartridges, there are a few additional steps you can take to try and fix the issue.
Clean the Printer Interior:
- Dust and debris can accumulate inside the printer over time, leading to print quality issues. Use a clean, lint-free cloth to gently wipe the interior of the printer, focusing on areas where ink may have accumulated. Be careful not to touch the printer's internal components or printhead.
Clean the Printhead Manually:
- If the printhead is dirty or clogged, it can cause smudging on prints. Consult your printer's user manual or HP's support website for instructions on how to manually clean the printhead. This process typically involves using a lint-free cloth lightly dampened with water or specialized printhead cleaning solution to gently wipe the printhead nozzles.
Align the Printhead:
- Proper printhead alignment is essential for high-quality prints. Most printers have a printhead alignment feature that can be accessed through the printer's settings menu. Follow the on-screen instructions to align the printhead, which can help improve print quality and reduce smudging.
Check Paper Quality:
- Low-quality or incompatible paper can contribute to smudging issues. Ensure that you're using high-quality, printer-compatible paper that's appropriate for your print job. Avoid using damaged, wrinkled, or excessively thin paper, as these can cause issues during printing.
Adjust Print Settings:
- Experiment with different print settings, such as print quality and paper type, to see if adjusting these settings improves print quality and reduces smudging. You can typically access print settings through your computer's print dialog or the printer's control panel.
Update Printer Firmware:
- Check for firmware updates for your printer on HP's support website. Firmware updates can sometimes include fixes for print quality issues and other performance improvements. Follow the instructions provided by HP to download and install any available updates.
By following these steps, you should be able to improve print quality and reduce smudging on your HP DeskJet Ink Advantage 4675 printer.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
