I recently installed a new HP toner cartridge (black) .  Now my print jobs contain a smudge on the left side of the printed page that repeats about every two inches down the left side of the page.  I ran the "cleaner maintenance" service on the control panel as well as sending a laser cleaning sheet through the printer.  No change.  HP chat states that it may be the "Fuser".  Is this logical and where do I find one to replace in my printer?  Nearest authorized service center is more than 35 miles away.

On this model, a left side defect is very possible, especially when the device approaches the rated fuser life of 50K pages.

You can measure the distance between two defects to confirm.

Part number for the fuser is RM2-6460-000CN.

Thank you very much for your response to my inquiry.  I was looking for confirmation of my suspected diagnosis and your response sealed the deal.  Much respect and thanks for your help.
