Hello!

i recently got the HP OfficeJet 8105e. I am trying to print on envelopes and this unwanted line of ink keeps showing up to the right of the envelope. Does anyone know how I can fix this/get rid of it?

Hi @ER98,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I hear that HP envelope printing issues like unwanted ink marks, these steps from HP guides can help:

  • Check envelope type: Do not use shiny/embossed envelopes or envelopes with clasps or windows, as these can cause jams or print issues.

  • Load envelopes correctly: Place the envelopes in the tray with the print side facing up and the flap on the left side. Slide the paper-width guide snugly against the envelopes.

  • Verify paper settings in the print dialog:

    • Select the correct envelope size

    • Use the appropriate paper type/media setting

  • Use genuine HP cartridges and check ink levels, since low or problematic cartridges can affect print quality.

  • If the mark looks like a print-quality issue, HP also recommends:

    • Aligning the cartridges

    • Cleaning the cartridges/printheads automatically from the printer software or maintenance tools

I hope this will help.

Take care and have a good day.

I'm an HP Employee.
