Posting here to share a solution to the problem where “Missing or damaged cartridge” error appears on the display. I have the instant Ink service. In my case, the damaged cartridge error appeared but was not consistent with a specific cartridge. It would appear again even after replacing the cartridge.  Steps recommended by HP support did not resolve the issue. Cartridges were replaced, the printer was reset, wireless network connectivity was confirmed, and Web services was turned on. In order to resolve the issue, I disabled the 5G option in network settings and reestablished wireless connectivity. The error went away.
