Wanted to let people know that a couple of the pages in my document changed from black to red.  The only remedy was to create a new email on Outlook, paste the page from the document into it.  The text turned black on the email.  I copied text, went back into my document, deleted the page with red text, and pasted text from the email.  Worked for me.

Don't know if this should be on this forum or not.  Delete if inappropriate.

Could you provide some additional information?

  • Which Office program is generating the improper text - Word, Publisher, Powerpoint or other?
  • What fonts are affected?  (Font style and size.)
  • Do the fonts appear black in the program but print in red, or do they appr=ear red in the program?

It is possible that some of the Office programs treat certain text (certain fonts, or large size fonts) as graphics.  Depending on the driver settings graphics may be printed as a mix of color inks rather than black ink.  If the printer was trying to print composite black (made from cyan, magenta and yellow) and cyan was not working the result would be red, even though the print may appear as black on the program's screen.  In this case the troubleshooting steps here may help resolve cyan not printing on your HP Envy 7800 series printer.
