HI there, I looking to upgrade my basic printer as it wont do borderless print, and in fact it always prints with a larger margin at the bottom - so if I want to print a large item it always leaves more white space at the bottom.
Im looking at the envy 6020 or 6022 (cant see the difference between them?) but HP told me they will both print borderless on A4.
Looking at the specs, they say "8.5 x 11 in or 216 x 297 mm" and this is quite common across a lot of models.
BUT..... what am I missing? Because the inches dont seem to convert to mm very well - for example, 11" is not 297mm... therefore is this a typo - or does it mean it will only print 11", therefore leaving a larger border at the bottom again? (as 11" in 279mm).
Im confused - pls help!

Thanks for your reply - are you saying that this printer supports full borderless printing for A4 paper?
To be honest, Im happy with a few mm all around, as long as its an even border - the model I have now has a larger border at the bottom and theres no way to change it.
Sounds like the 6022 is the one to use..
Im still confused though , Im reading the below as showing both inches and mm - yet they dont match -
Where 8.5" is equivalent to 216mm 11" is equivalent to 279mm not 297mm
Regarding the ADF - is this better for scanning etc - I assume it can still load a batch of photo/plain paper in the tray at the bottom?
Is there any other you would recommend -around the same ££ - a lot of what I print has solid colour if that makes a difference.... I had a canon in the past that printed well, but I like the instant ink idea..
Many thanks 🙂

Edits - Remove redundant / unnecessary content
Spec sheets sometimes contain type errors.
Other sources (internal check and Datasheet) confirm the Borderless is supported to the paper size indicated.
Assuming "not borderless", for Media / sizes not supported, print margins are :
Print Margin Bottom (A4) | 3 mm (.1 inch) |
Print Margin Left (A4) | 3 mm |
Print Margin Right (A4) | 3 mm |
Print Margin Top (A4) | 3 mm |
From the Datasheet document
Yes (up to 216 x 297 mm)
Stay safe.
