My five-year-old printer has had streaks in the color for a while.  Today I tried the cleaning procedure (all three levels, twice) and it made it much worse - now it barely prints Cyan at all.  Black is 100%, red pretty good and yellow iffy.  Ink levels are good and I also tried wiping the copper contacts.

Is there any way to REALLY clean the print heads?

thanks!

There are some youtube videos on how and with what to clean the printhead, you can try. No guarantee of success any fully recover of the printhead.

I talked to HP today and they offered to send me more ink cartridges.  What they REFUSED to offer, was any guidance on cleaning the printheads, a service manual, or even a recommendation to seek professional service.

But after we finished the 55-minute call, I realized what HP really should supply, is "ink cartridges" that are actually filled with cleaning fluid.  THAT might work to fix the clogged printheads!

HP sent me new ink in 4 separate FedEx packages.  Aside from all the wasted packing material, it seems for the price of the shipping alone, HP could have fixed my printer.
