I've been having issues with streaks along one side of the printed page. Troubleshooting indicates a cleaning page should be printed, but there is no option that I can find. Manual says go to touchscreen push "setup", then cleaning page- but there is no option for that.

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand that you are getting print quality issues, I am glad to assist you.

Print a cleaning page

  1. From the product control panel, press the Setup  button.

  2. Open the Service menu.

  3. Select the Cleaning mode option, and then press the OK button.

The product prints the first side and then prompts you to remove the page from the output bin and reload it in Tray 1, keeping the same orientation. Wait until the process is complete. Discard the page that prints.

Check the EconoMode settings

HP does not recommend the full-time use of EconoMode. If EconoMode is used full-time, the toner supply might outlast the mechanical parts in the toner cartridge. If print quality begins to degrade and is no longer acceptable, consider replacing the toner cartridge.

Follow these steps if the entire page is too dark or too light.

  1. From the software program, select the Print option.

  2. Select the product, and then click the Properties or Preferences button.

  3. Click the Paper/Quality tab, and then locate the Quality Settings area.

  4. If the entire page is too dark, select the EconoMode setting.

If the entire page is too light, make sure you are using the correct setting for the print job.

    • If you a printing photos, select the Photo option.

    • For all other print jobs, select the Normal option.

  5. Click the OK button to close the Document Properties dialog box. In the Print dialog box, click the OK button to print the job.
