To check the ink levels and run a test on your HP DeskJet 2722e All-In-One Printer, follow the steps below:
Checking Ink Levels
Using HP Smart App
Download and Install HP Smart:
- If you haven't already, download and install the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device.
- HP Smart for Windows
- HP Smart for macOS
- HP Smart for iOS
- HP Smart for Android
Open HP Smart:
- Open the HP Smart app and sign in if required.
Add Your Printer:
- If your printer is not already added, click on the plus sign (+) to add your printer.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to add your HP DeskJet 2722e.
Check Ink Levels:
- Once the printer is added, you should see an icon representing your printer.
- Click on the printer icon to open the printer details.
- The ink levels for both the black and color cartridges should be displayed on the main screen.
Using Printer’s Control Panel
Turn on the Printer:
- Make sure the printer is turned on and connected to your computer or network.
Print a Status Report:
- On the printer control panel, press and hold the Cancel button (the X icon) and the Information button (the "i" icon) at the same time for 3 seconds.
- This should print a Printer Status Report, which includes information about the ink levels.

Running a Test for Ink
Print a Diagnostic Page
Open HP Smart:
- Open the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device.
Select Your Printer:
- Select your HP DeskJet 2722e printer from the list.
Print Quality Tools:
- Go to Printer Maintenance or Tools (the exact name may vary).
- Select Print Quality Tools.
Print a Diagnostic Page:
- Choose to print a diagnostic page or print a test page.
Using the Printer’s Control Panel
Turn on the Printer:
- Make sure the printer is turned on and connected to your computer or network.
Print a Test Page:
- On the printer control panel, press and hold the Information button (the "i" icon) for a few seconds.
- The printer should print an Information page, which includes information about the ink and print quality.
