The cartridges are placed correctly.

The cartridge can not move to the far right: obstacle seems to be the tray 9for lack of a better term) under that far-right. When I push it down and up, it clears the area. But when I start the printer, it comes back again and stops the movement of the cartridge to the far right. I guess that is the issue. Not sure how to fix it.

Appreciate any insight!

The part that is blocking the carriage movement is the carriage cleaning station. The carriage moves to the right and the cleaning station cleans the ink cartridges.  Sounds like your printer's cleaning station has failed.  Not repairable.  We gave up fixing inkjets long ago.
