I have an HP Photosmart 6525 printer. The black cartridge started to show streaking and eventually won’t print at all now. It’s 75% full of ink. The other cartridges are fine. When the diagnostic page prints out after having the printer clean the cartridges several times, the black cartridge does not print at all. I’ve replaced it after shaking it, examined it and I see nothing wrong with the cartridge or the hole where the ink goes through.

Hi @CarolArias,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you've already taken some good troubleshooting steps. Since you've replaced the cartridge and still encounter the same issue, it's possible that there could be a problem with the printer itself. Here are a few additional steps you can take to try and resolve the issue.
- Clean the printhead manually: Sometimes, built-up ink or debris can block the printhead nozzles. Most printers have a utility for manual printhead cleaning. Refer to your printer's manual for instructions on how to access and use this feature.
- Check for firmware updates: Occasionally, firmware updates can resolve printing issues. Check HP's support website to see if there are any firmware updates available for your printer model.
- Perform a power cycle: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and leave it unplugged for a few minutes. Then, plug it back in and turn it on. Sometimes, this can reset the printer and resolve minor issues.
- Check for physical obstructions: Inspect the printer for any physical obstructions that may be blocking the printhead or the paper path. Remove any obstructions you find.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, it's possible that there may be a more serious problem with the printer.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
