HP ENVY 5055 All-in-One Printer

I replaced depleted ink carts with the designated HP 65 carts and "indicated cartridges are not communicating correctly with the printer" message showed up. I don't want to spend $40 more for new carts only to get the same message.  Is it the carts or the printer that is malfunctioning?

@DSP21

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help.

If you insert your old ink in, do you still get the error message?

The old cart was recycled, but I purchased another cart and the error went away.  The defective cart was returned to Staples without any issue.  So the issue was a defective cart and my misreading of which cart was bad in the first place.  Problem solved.

Thanks for replying.
