Hi @bluewave2,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If the ink cartridge is not communicating with your HP ENVY Inspire 7955e All-in-One Printer, you can try the following steps to troubleshoot the issue.
Check the Cartridges:
- Ensure the ink cartridges are installed correctly. Remove and reinsert them to make sure they are seated properly.
- Check for any protective tape or plastic that might still be on the cartridges and remove it if necessary.
Clean the Contacts:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Carefully remove the ink cartridges.
- Use a soft, lint-free cloth lightly dampened with water to gently clean the contacts on both the cartridges and the printer.
- Allow the contacts to dry completely before reinstalling the cartridges.
Reset the Printer:
- With the printer turned on, unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for at least 60 seconds before plugging it back in.
- Turn the printer on and check if the issue is resolved.
Update Printer Firmware:
- Ensure that your printer’s firmware is up-to-date. You can check for updates through the HP Smart app or by visiting the HP support website.
Check for Cartridge Compatibility:
- Verify that the cartridges you are using are compatible with your HP ENVY Inspire 7955e.
Inspect for Damage:
- Check the cartridges and the cartridge slots for any visible damage. If you see any damage, you may need to replace the cartridges.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
