The toner cartridge that came with my Laser Jet MFP M234sdwe printer lasted almost two years (longer than the printer warranty), so this is the first time I am trying to replace the cartridge. The replacement cartridge, 'Original HP Toner 134x', was delivered last night on HP order H358165457. After installing it, I get Error 11, which HP Smart tells me means that the printer cannot read the memory of the cartridge. I've tried powering down, removing the cartridge, reinserting it, and powering back up but the problem persists. What is the next step?

Hi @sc27racer,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I see you need help with the E11 error.
The errors might display for the following reasons:
The toner cartridge is not compatible with the printer.
The toner cartridge has been protected on another printer.
Replace the affected supplies.
Purchase replacement cartridges and other supplies from the HP Store or local retailers.
Step 1: Replace the incompatible toner cartridge
Replace the toner cartridge with a new toner cartridge and try to print. If the error persists, continue to the next step. For more detailed information, go to Replacing the Toner Cartridge.
If you have completed all the previous steps and the issue persists, continue to the Service the printer
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
