After printing over 60 pages today in rapid succession, now the prints are looking faded and pinkish/red instead of full color.  I've replaced the ink cartridges, and I've also done printer maintenance with multiple cycles of cleaning the print heads and done alignment twice.  No change.  It's still printing pinkish red.

Hi @DMerville,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you've already replaced the ink cartridges, performed print head cleaning cycles, and aligned the printer, but the issue persists, there are a few additional steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the problem.

  • Check Ink Levels: Ensure that the new ink cartridges are properly installed and have sufficient ink levels. You can check the ink levels through the printer software or the printer control panel.
  • Printer Software Update: Make sure that your printer's software and drivers are up-to-date. Check the manufacturer's website for any available updates and install them if necessary.
  • Color Settings: Verify that the color settings in the printing preferences or settings on your computer are configured correctly. Sometimes, incorrect color settings can result in unexpected print output.
  • Paper Type and Quality: Ensure that you are using the correct type and quality of paper for your printer. Using the wrong paper may affect print quality. Additionally, check if the paper is loaded correctly in the paper tray.
  • Calibration: Some printers have a calibration or color adjustment feature. Refer to your printer's manual to see if there's a calibration option and perform it if available.
  • Check for Firmware Updates: Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware. Firmware updates can address performance and printing issues. Visit the HP website to download and install any available firmware updates for your printer model.
  • Test on Another Device: Print a test page or a document from a different computer or device to see if the issue persists. This helps determine whether the problem is with the printer or the computer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hi Alden, thanks for your replies, but I've done all of those, including updating the firmware.  It seems that the cyan color is blocked or clogged, but I don't know how to unblock it.  I've tried having it clean the print heads and done alignment multiple times, and so forth, and I've changed out 2 different cyan cartridges, to no avail.  I've had this printer for a couple years, so I know how to load the cartridges, and they are positioned fine.  It's something to do with how the cyan ink delivers to the paper.  I also took a cotton swab to clean the nozzle where the cyan ink cartridge would exit the ink, and that hasn't helped either.
