HP OfficeJet Pro 8725 All-in-One Printer

For HP Office Jet Pro 8725.  Getting a message: supply system problem.  It only affects the Black cartridge.

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding the supply system problem for the black cartridge on the HP OfficeJet Pro 8725!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

 

Try these steps:

Turn Off and On the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer using the power button.
  • Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer, wait for about 60 seconds, and then plug it back in.
  • Turn the printer back on and check if the error message persists.

Check Cartridge Installation:

  • Open the cartridge access door of the printer.
  • Wait until the carriage is idle and silent.
  • Push in on the front of the black cartridge to release it, and remove it from its slot.
  • Examine the cartridge to ensure there is no glue residue or obstruction blocking the ink supply.
  • Reinsert the cartridge and push it forward until it clicks into place.
  • Close the cartridge access door, and try printing again.

Replace the Cartridge:

  • If the error message continues after reinstalling the cartridge, consider replacing the cartridge with a new one.
  • Ensure that the replacement cartridge is a genuine HP cartridge, as non-HP cartridges may not provide reliable operation.
