My printer keeps printing  printer information pages. The last time it printed sixteen at one go. How do I stop it?

Hi @Fred485,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thank you for reaching out. I can understand how frustrating it is when the printer keeps printing Printer Information Pages, especially when it prints multiple pages without being requested.

To help identify the cause, could you please let me know:

  • What is the exact model number of your HP printer?
  • Does the Printer Information Page print automatically as soon as the printer is turned on, or only after you send a print job?
  • Have you recently changed your Wi-Fi network, reset the printer, or installed new ink cartridges?
  • Are you printing from a Windows PC, Mac, Android, or iPhone?

In the meantime, please try these checks:

  1. Turn the printer off, unplug the power cord for 60 seconds, then reconnect it directly to a wall outlet and power it back on.
  2. If the printer is connected by USB, disconnect the USB cable and see if it still prints the information pages on its own.
  3. If it's connected over Wi-Fi, restart your router and then restart the printer.
  4. Open the HP App (if installed) and check whether there are any pending setup or configuration prompts for the printer.

Once you share the printer model, I can provide the troubleshooting steps specific to your printer. Some HP printer models may continuously print Printer Information Pages if the initial setup has not completed successfully or if the printer is waiting for a setup or alignment process to finish. Knowing the exact model will help determine the correct solution.

I look forward to your reply and will be happy to help you get this resolved.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!

I'm an HP Employee.
