Hello,
I am experiencing an issue where text is printing twice on the same page.
On a printed page, the beginning of the text is printed a second time at the bottom of the page, less clearly. Have you ever encountered this issue?

@CaroS3, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're experiencing an issue where text is being printed twice on the same page, with the second instance appearing faintly and shifted downward. This is commonly referred to as "ghosting" or "double printing", and it can be caused by a few different factors. Let's go through some steps to help resolve this:
Check the Paper Type and Quality Settings
- Make sure the paper type selected in the printer settings matches the actual paper you're using.
- On your computer:
- Go to Devices and Printers > Right-click your HP printer > Printing Preferences.
- Under the Paper/Quality tab, ensure the correct paper type is selected.
Align the Print Cartridges (Inkjet Printers)
- Misaligned cartridges can cause text to appear doubled.
- To align:
- Open the HP Smart App or your printer’s control panel.
- Navigate to Printer Maintenance > Align Printhead/Cartridges.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
Clean the Printhead
- Ink residue or clogs can cause ghosting.
- Use the HP Smart App or printer menu:
- Go to Printer Maintenance > Clean Printhead.
Check for Driver or Firmware Updates
- Outdated drivers or firmware can cause print quality issues.
- Visit the HP Support page.
- Enter your printer model.
- Download and install the latest firmware and drivers.
Inspect the Drum or Fuser Unit (Laser Printers)
- If you're using a laser printer, a worn-out drum or fuser can cause ghosting.
- Check the supplies status via the printer control panel or HP Smart App.
- If the fuser or drum is near end-of-life, consider replacing it.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
