My printer got an update a few days back, and now I am having issues with my yellow ink cartridge. My black ink cartridge ran out, and when replacing it, I accidentally ejected the yellow cartridge and then immediately pushed it back in. The black ink cartridge is working just fine, but the yellow one, which is the same ink cartridge I have been using for months and is an original HP 952 cartridge now says "This printer is not designed to use continuous ink systems".
What does this mean? Why will the cartridge not longer work?
Again, this is an HP cartridge that I bought from Staples and has been working for a long time with no issues. The only thing that changed was that there was an update to the printer and now I cant use it.

Remove magenta gently shake it in your hand, if you don't feel liquid ink moving inside the ink cartridge it's empty, check all 3 colours.
Your empty colour cartridges are causing printer problems.

No, the black one was, but not the color ones. I feel like this has to be the update, the printer just updated itself yesterday or the day before. And now I am having issues. The magenta now has an issue. I was looking at it on the printer admin page and it said it was a genuine HP cartridge and no issues. After trying to get the yellow one working, now it is saying the same thing for the magenta, that it is not designed for use in a continuous ink system. I bought the 3 color 952 cartridges as a pack late last year from Staples.

Funny enough, I had a pack of remanufactured cartridges from Amazon that didnt work before the update. I tried those and now they work after the update. I replaced the HP print cartridge with the 3rd party and now things are working well. I will just stick with the remanufactured one since the HP cartridges dont work.

Well I may have spoken too soon on the success. The printer was able to print test pages directly from the web interface. However it seem that the update may have broken the whole printer. Now it will not perform any function.
1. I try to print from a computer, it stays spinning on "printing" on the printer screen and never prints anything.
2. I try to make a copy on the printer, it stays spinning on "copying" and never does a thing.
So essentially the printer is broken now. Going to try to restore factory defaults and if not then open a support case to see if it can be replaced.
