Hi @How12,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It seems like your printer is displaying an "ink incompatible" error after replacing the black toner cartridge with one from the UK. This could be due to regional restrictions or compatibility issues with the cartridge.

Here's a general guide on how to reset the printer region for your HP LaserJet MFP M283fdw.

Access the Printer's Embedded Web Server (EWS):

  • Open a web browser on a computer connected to the same network as your printer.
  • Enter the printer's IP address in the address bar. You can find the IP address by printing a configuration page from the printer.

Login to the EWS:

  • Once you enter the printer's IP address, the Embedded Web Server (EWS) page should load.
  • You may be prompted to enter a username and password. If you haven't set up a custom username and password, you can usually log in with the default credentials. Check your printer manual for the default username and password.

Navigate to the Printer Settings:

  • Once logged in, navigate to the "Settings" or "Administration" tab.

Reset Printer Region:

  • Look for an option related to "Region" or "Regional Settings".
  • Within this section, you should find an option to change or reset the printer region. Follow the on-screen instructions to reset the region.

Save Changes and Restart Printer:

  • After resetting the region, save the changes and restart your printer.
  • Once the printer restarts, try installing the black toner cartridge again and see if the error persists.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
