Even though the only topic available says "ink" in the title, this is about toner.
I installed an "HP 30X High Yield Black Original LaserJet Toner Cartridge, CF230X" in my LaserJet M203dw. It is supposed to yield about 3,500 pages. I use the printer at home, it does not get that much use, and this "high yield" toner cartridge has been in service less than 8 months. The printer control interface says I've printed 593 pages so far, and the approximate number of pages I can get from the remaining toner is about 50. That's less than 20% the capacity of this high yield toner cartridge.
Any idea what may be going on?

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help,
HP publishes declared ISO page yield numbers for each LaserJet cartridge (where ISO is applicable) www.hp.com/go/pageyield.
Keep in mind that page yield is just one component of cost and that factors such as quality, reliability, productivity and efficiency affect the cost as well. Products that work reliably will ultimately save you time and money. When you choose a LaserJet printer, make sure you consider your individual printing needs.

Thanks for replying Echo_Lake. My query, however, was about a laserJet printer that uses a toner cartridge, not an inkjet printer. I print mostly average density text documents. Rarely do I print dense graphic documents. I expect something greater than a 20% yield on the expected page count that an HP cartridge is claimed to provide.
I eventually was able to find a phone number to call about the poor performance of this HP-brand toner cartridge, and HP is sending me a replacement cartridge. Glad to know HP still backs the quality of their products, even though finding the proper phone number is sometimes a major task.
