MFP M28w
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I've got this newly bought MFP M28w. Yesterday, HP Smart gave a warning that the toner was almost empty and I should buy a new toner. According to the productpage of the HP 44A toner, it should at least last for a 1000 pages, I was only able to print 262 pages. How is this possible?

If that is the cartridge you got in the box with the new printer that one can print 500 pages at 5% coverage,  if you print with higher coverage you can print under 500 pages.

The new cartridge you buy can print 1000 pages at 5% coverage.

The Smart App can be wrong. Print yourself a supplies status page to be 100% sure in toner level.

This is the status page, the toner status is "very low":
