Toner rubs off.

I have a new Laserjet Pro MFP-M283fdw.

When printing labels (with label selected as the paper type), I find the toner rubs off the paper. I believe I need to increase the temperature of the fuser, but don't know how to do that on this model. Any help appreciated

Sounds like the labels you are using are not for laser printers, make sure you are using labels for laser printers, not just any labels.

The temperature is automatically adjusted when you set paper type in the print driver.

Thanks Valsimot, I appreciate you trying to help. The labels I'm using are supposedly suitable for laser (and inkjet) printers. I had suspected that the labels might be the problem but, having now tried two different brands, I am tending to think it may be the fuser that needs adjusting. 

Is it possible to adjust the fuser on this model as it appears to be on other HP printers?

As a quick and dirty fix, I am going to try setting the paper type to 'Cardstock/Heavy', in the hope that will increase the temperature.

If you would like to recommend a brand of labels that you know to be good, I'll happily try that too - but I need '1 label to a sheet' A4 (i.e. full page) labels.

I am not sure that the 200 series products give you that much control. If they do you would need to access the Embedded WebServer of the printer and it the settings you are looking for would be under a print quality menu

Thanks Repairtrooper. I have no idea how to access the Embedded WebServer of the printer, but had already found a  'Print Quality' option via the printer's menu tree. As you predict, there is no option there to tweak the fuser temperature. 

If changing the labels used doesn't fix the issue (and I need a recommendation for a brand of label as per my reply upstream), I fear I may be making a warranty claim.
