HP LaserJet 4250n Printer

On my LaserJet 4250, I had a paper jam and after clearing it, my toner printed pages are smudging. Why is this and how do I fix it after cleaning everywhere I could?

Hard to say, are you sure the cartridge is not leaking additional toner? Is the smeared toner properly bonded or loose on the page? If loose you may have a failing fuser unit. Maximum life rating on a fuser for this model is 200K and that page count will be smaller if you typically print single page jobs or print on narrow or heavy media a lot.

Thank you Expert. It was a fuser problem but not what we thought. I had a paper jam which never came out and I did not realize that it was stuck to the fuser roller! I decided to take it apart and found 1 or 2 sheets of paper fused to the roller. After meticulously removing them, I was able to reassemble the unit and my toner is now fusing as it should. Yay!
