I am so disappointed I purchased the HP MFP M479!  Shortly after I purchased it, I bought some replacement toner cartridges from a company that sells cartridges...but without the chip.  The boxes even came with tools and instructions to remove the chip off the original cartridge and put it on the replacement cartridge.

Well, much to my dismay, that chip might as well have been WELDED on the cartridge, as there is NO WAY TO remove it without damaging the chip.

To make matters worse, the cost of an HP set of 4 replacement 414x cartridges sells for  around $800!!!  This is "highway robbery".  I wish I had known the toner was so ridiculously expensive before I purchased the machine!  If anyone has found good replacement cartridges for this model that come with a chip and are compatible with this machine, PLEASE LET ME KNOW.  Thanks.

HP Recommended

You can buy 4 replacement chips on eBay or Amazon or buy replacement toners with chips.
