HP ENVY Photo 7855 All-in-One Printer

I have done all the trouble shooting for my tri color ink cartridge that keeps saying that it has a cartridge problem. I reset printer, cleaned contacts, firmware is up-to-date, and tried a replacement cartridge from HP directly. I am wondering if there is anything I can do within the printer itself? Any help would be great. Thanks!

Hi @Jbruecker,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It seems like you've already taken several troubleshooting steps for the cartridge problem with your HP ENVY Photo 7855 printer. If the issue persists despite these efforts, there are a few more things you can try.

  • Inspect the Cartridge: Make sure that the tri-color ink cartridge is properly installed. Remove the cartridge and then reinsert it to ensure it's securely in place.
  • Clean Cartridge Contacts: Turn off the printer and unplug it. Remove the tri-color cartridge and clean the electrical contacts on the cartridge with a lint-free cloth. Also, clean the contacts inside the printer where the cartridge is inserted. Be gentle and avoid touching the nozzles.
  • Check for Obstructions: Ensure there are no obstructions or debris in the cartridge area that may be preventing the cartridge from making proper contact.
  • Update Printer Drivers: Ensure that your printer drivers on your computer are up-to-date. Sometimes, communication issues between the printer and the computer can cause cartridge problems.
  • Perform a Hard Reset: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for a few minutes. Then, plug it back in, turn it on, and check if the issue persists.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
