HP ENVY 5055 All-in-One Printer

I am suddenly having trouble finding my printer ink (HP65) in stores (Office Depot, Target, Meijer, Walmart, etc) and I am forced to get it online.  Is it become obsolete, and if so, does that mean I have to get a new printer?

Hi @DarkSlayer76,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I understand your concern, especially if you've suddenly had difficulty finding HP 65 ink at local stores.

The good news is that HP 65 has not simply been discontinued with no replacement. HP has recently consolidated the HP 63 and HP 65 cartridge families into the HP 63/65 cartridge. The new HP 63/65 is designed to work with printers that previously used HP 65, so you do not need to replace your printer just because HP 65 is becoming harder to find in stores.

If your printer previously used HP 65 or HP 65XL, you should now look for:

HP 63/65 Black

HP 63/65 Tri-color

HP 63/65XL for the high-yield version

HP confirms that the new cartridges maintain compatibility with the same printers that previously accepted HP 65.

If you provide me with your exact printer model, I can confirm the correct replacement cartridge for your particular printer so you don't have to buy a new printer unnecessarily.

Take care and have an amazing day!

Best regards,
Kuroi_Kenshi

I appreciate the information.  I just wished there was someway that could have been conveyed (perhaps at the stores) and I have seen the 63/65 ink on display and it did make me wonder.  Thank you for clarifying!
