I have an OfficeJet 8130e and for some reason the color is not printing correctly. The only colors printing are the black and yellow. It has been functioning in the past and the ink cartridges are half full.

Hi @Sandi1154,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like a frustrating issue! Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the color printing problem with your HP OfficeJet 8130e.
Check Ink Cartridges:
- Make sure the color cartridges (cyan, magenta) are properly installed and not clogged.
- Remove the cartridges and inspect them for any damage or leaks.
Clean Printhead:
- Use the printer’s built-in cleaning function. You can usually find this option in the printer’s settings or maintenance menu.
- Perform a deep clean if the regular cleaning doesn’t resolve the issue.
Check Print Settings:
- Ensure that your print settings are configured for color printing. Sometimes, settings may be defaulted to black and white or grayscale.
Update Printer Firmware:
- Check if there is a firmware update available for your printer. Sometimes, updates can fix bugs related to color printing.
Align Printhead:
- Perform a printhead alignment from the printer’s settings menu. Misalignment can affect color printing.
Check for Error Messages:
- Look at the printer’s display or software for any error messages that might indicate a problem with the color printing system.
Print a Test Page:
- Print a test page or a print quality report from the printer’s menu to see if the issue persists. This can help identify if the problem is with specific colors or the entire color system.
Replace Cartridges:
- If the problem continues, consider replacing the color cartridges with new ones. Even if they are half full, they might be malfunctioning.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
