Set up issues with 0ffice jet pro 8120e. Yellow set up cartridge not communicating- please help

It sounds like you're encountering a frustrating issue with the yellow setup cartridge on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8120e. Here are some steps to help resolve this:

1. Check Cartridge Installation

  • Open the printer's cartridge access door and ensure the yellow setup cartridge is securely seated in its slot.
  • Remove the cartridge, inspect it for any damage, and reinsert it firmly until it clicks into place.

2. Clean the Cartridge Contacts

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Remove the yellow cartridge and gently clean the electrical contacts on the cartridge and inside the printer using a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water.
  • Allow the contacts to dry completely before reinserting the cartridge.

3. Reset the Printer

  • With the printer turned on, unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
  • This can help clear any temporary errors.

  • Open the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device.
  • Follow the app's prompts to troubleshoot and resolve cartridge-related issues.

Hi,

 

Sorry for the delayed response.

I have followed the instructions you have supplied but the problem still persists. I think there is a problem with the yellow cartridge supplied with the printer. Is it possible to send a replacement cartridge?
