I use genuine HP ink cartridges, they come from the HP Store on amazon.com, and the printer recognizes them as such when I install them. The last tri-color cartridge I installed printed very little magenta, but since it was a new cartridge and not cheap, I ran with it until it just annoyed me too much. I just installed a brand new color cartridge; magenta is fine, but the other two colors appear to be non-existent. I've cleaned and realigned twice now, but there's no change in the result. I buy these cartridges in advance, so returning them is not an option, but I can't afford to waste money like this. Is there something else I could be doing to wake these cartridges up?
