I purchased Remanufactured Ink Cartridges that day they are compatible with HP 950XL and 951XL. After inserting the new cartridge I received the following message:

“One or more cartridges appear to be damaged. Remove them and replace with new cartridges.”

I have tried all the troubleshooting contained with the new cartridges including trying to clean printhead, however, screen flashes back to error message. I’ve also turned off and unplugged, but still  goes back to the same error message. Does HP not allow remanufactured ink cartridges?

Welcome to the HP support community.

HP printers are designed to work with original HP ink and toner cartridges. As is standard in the printing business, HP printers use a process to authenticate cartridges. In certain HP printers, this authentication process includes measures referred to as dynamic security.

I hope that helps.
