My laptop is HP Pavilion x360 Convertible 14-dw0xx, x64-based PC
I still can use my pen until one month ago, I cannot use my pen. Although it still appears the cursor on screen, but I can't draw or detect the screen.
I've tried to restart my device, but it didn't work.
Can you help me to fix it?
Thanks a lot!

@NganKhanh, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're having trouble using your pen on your HP Pavilion x360 Convertible 14-dw0xx. Since the cursor still appears but the pen doesn't interact with the screen, it sounds like a digitizer or driver-related issue. Let's go through some steps to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve this:
Check Pen Battery (if applicable)
If your pen uses a battery, try replacing it. A weak battery can cause the pen to stop functioning properly even if the cursor still appears.
Run HP Hardware Diagnostics
Use HP’s built-in diagnostics to check for hardware issues:
- Press Esc repeatedly while turning on the laptop.
- Select F2 for System Diagnostics.
- Run the Touchscreen Test under Component Tests.
Update or Reinstall Pen and Touch Drivers
- Press Windows + X > Device Manager.
- Expand Human Interface Devices.
- Right-click on:
- HID-compliant touch screen
- HID-compliant pen
- Select Uninstall device for each.
- Restart your PC. Windows will reinstall the drivers automatically.
Check for Windows and HP Updates
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
- Install all available updates.
- Also, open HP Support Assistant and check for driver or firmware updates.
Calibrate the Pen (Optional)
- Go to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Tablet PC Settings.
- Under the Display tab, click Calibrate.
Reset Windows Ink Settings
- Go to Settings > Devices > Pen & Windows Ink.
- Reset any custom settings or try toggling "Ignore touch input when I'm using my pen".
If none of the above steps help, the issue might be hardware-related, then please visit the nearest HP authorized service center, the service team will check and assist you.
Kindly follow this link to locate the nearest HP service center: HP® Service Center Locator - Vietnam | HP® Support
(Select the country from the dropdown menu and enter the city name or pincode)
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
