This is a printer I have used in the past. I moved and hadn’t used and when I moved into a new apartment I plugged it in and it continues to request “Use SETUP cartridges that came with your printer”. I have Instant Ink through HP and I most certainly do not have the original cartridges. I have restarted multiple times and it does not change the outcome. How do I bypass this request?

Try these steps:
Check Cartridge Compatibility:
- Ensure that you are using genuine HP Instant Ink cartridges. Instant Ink cartridges are different from regular 902 series cartridges and must be recognized by your printer.
Reset Printer:
- Perform a hard reset on your printer:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for about 60 seconds.
- Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
Reinstall Cartridges:
- Open the printer cover and carefully remove all current cartridges.
- Reseat each cartridge correctly in its slot.
Connect to HP Smart:
- Ensure your printer is properly connected to the HP Smart service.
- Download and install the HP Smart app on your device.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to reconnect the printer to your network and HP Smart service.
Firmware Update:
Kindly refer to this link to update your printer firmware.
